Winter Heating Oil Delivery Checklist

Some Important Reminders

heating oil delivery massachusetts Winter in the South Shore brings some new chores and considerations. There’s snow to shovel. The colder it gets, the more important it is to have a car battery that’s in good working condition. You and your family bundle up when you go outside. And you want to make sure you’re safe and warm when you’re inside. In the name of safety, let’s take some time to review some of the important things you can do this winter to make it safer and easier for the Scott Williams team to deliver your heating oil.

Your Winter Heating Oil Delivery Checklist

By using the following checklist, you’ll be helping our delivery team have a safer winter and serve you and your family better.

  1. Don’t let snow and ice accumulate on your walkway or driveway. That’s dangerous for you, anyone visiting you, and our delivery team. Whether you do it yourself or make arrangements for someone else to do it for you, make sure there is always a clear and safe path along your walkway and driveway to your fill pipe. This will help our delivery and service crew members safely access your property.
  2. Always keep your fill pipe clear and easy to access. That will help us with the delivery process. We also suggest that you mark your fill pipe with a brightly colored flag. That will make it more visible during and following a storm so you can more easily clear a path to it and our delivery personnel will always be able to find it.
  3. Keep a close eye on your fuel levels. Especially during the winter months when you’re probably spending more time at home and/or entertaining more family members and friends, you can see your usage increase sharply. You don’t want to run the risk of a run-out. Call Scott Williams for a refill before your tank is less than ¼ full. Or take the pressure off of yourself to track your fuel usage and levels and sign up for our automatic heating oil delivery service. It will make being a heating oil customer even easier and help prevent run-outs.
  4. If you’re already an automatic delivery customer, please let Scott Williams know whenever there is going to be a change in your household or habits. If the number of people in your household is going to change dramatically. If you’ll be spending more time in your home or away from it. Those are all things it’s helpful for us to know as we plan your fuel deliveries. Keeping us in the loop will help us to serve you better, because we’ll have a more accurate picture of your heating oil needs.
